The South Texas College Art Department is pleased to host area High School students for our annual Emerging Artists Exhibition. Student work will be on display, and these students may attend the exhibition reception, along with workshops and tours of the STC Art Department studios.

The STC Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition highlights the amazing artworks produced during the academic year by both art majors and non-majors at South Texas College.

Leila Hernández is an artist, designer, educator and a fervent admirer of popular culture and ancient folklore. Jason Bly explores imagined futures and everyday realities through hyper-detailed oil paintings layered in traditional glazing techniques. Influenced by sci-fi predictions, digital art, and arcade visuals, his work blends the real and unreal—contrasting nostalgic objects with futuristic anxieties and optimism.

Fulden Sara-Wissinger, lecturer at Texas A&M–Kingsville, creates ceramic work inspired by her European, Byzantine, and Seljuk-Ottoman heritage. Growing up in Istanbul, she draws from its vibrant contrasts—blending graphic design, calligraphy, and cultural identity into sculptural forms.
